So Christmas right around the corner. For those of us that are on a very tight budget I've come up with some ideas.
I come from a good sized family. As nieces, nephews, and children grow up and some have children of their own, Christmas starts to get expensive. So, I've decided this year I'm not going to give in to the expensive demands.
Here are some ideas that I have come up with that might work for you, too.
Pictures. My grandparents are gone on both sides of the family. My brothers and sister don't really have any pictures of our grandparents. Well..last year I gave a picture to my youngest brother of one of our grandmothers and grandfathers picture. I think when our grandfather died he was like 5 or 6 years old, so the picture of him meant a lot to my brother. So this year, I've decided to get my sister and my brothers caught up as well as pictures of our parents that only my parents have. I am going to go to Walgreens and make copies. It's really fairly inexpensive to get copies. You can also make envelopes and give it that personal touch. If you're into scrapping like me, you know that their are lots of options out there for that. If you're not, you can get ideas online for free, watch videos on you tube or just buy the envelope and decorate it.
Cookies. I bought for under $20 12 canning jars online with the lids and I am going to put all of the products for the cookies (except for the wet products) into the jars, with the recipe for adding the wet products and instructions. Punch a small hole into one of the corners, personalize the recipe card and tie a string or yarn around the lid. Can even dress it up with a cute little tree ornament with it.
These are only two ideas, however, tomorrow I will provide more ideas with links of where you can buy and get started. Remember we only have less than 6 weeks before Christmas is here.
